Developing leadership in our students is important at Zillmere State School. All students will be provided with opportunities to explore their potential for personal growth and leadership through working with others, developing teamwork, exploring their interaction and influence within the school community, and commitment to valuing and improving the environment around them.
In 2024, our student leadership team will consist of the following:
2 x School Captains (Year 6 1 boy and 1 girl)
1 x Cultural Captain (Year 6 either gender)
4 x House Captains (Year 6 - boy and girl from each sporting house)
1 x Environment Captain (Year 6 either gender)
1 x Technology Captain (Year 6 either gender)
1 x Library Captain (Year 6 either gender)
1 x Student Council President (Year 6 either gender)
In 2024, the following will also occur:
- every Year 6 student will receive a Student Leader badge.
- two students from classes (years 3-6) will be elected by classmates to be Student Council Representatives. This will take place early in Term 1, 2024. These class representatives will also receive Student Council Representative badges.
- If students elected to leadership positions fail to meet their obligations due to behaviour, it is the school's right to remove the badge temporarily or permanently.
Our 2024 Induction Ceremony will take place early in Term One.
